A space to stop performing. To breathe.
To remember what it feels like to be in a body,
in a life, in relation with others.
Most of us have learned to live from the neck up.
We think, analyse, plan and perform. We manage our emotions, monitor our output and measure our worth in productivity. We become very good at surviving — and in doing so, we quietly lose contact with the rest of ourselves. With the body. With sensation. With pleasure. With the living world just beyond the window.
Founded by Kirsty Stark — HCPC registered creative psychotherapist, qualified teacher, breathwork facilitator and reflective practice consultant — The Listening Shed is built around a different kind of intelligence. One that trusts the body as much as the mind. One that pays attention to what cannot always be spoken. One that recognises that much of what shapes our lives happens beneath conscious thought: in our relationships, our nervous systems and our lived experience.
This is not a space for fixing. It is a space for restoring relationship — with yourself, with others, with your body, and with the world you actually inhabit.
But it is also more than restoration. The Listening Shed is not only about healing, recovery or getting back to baseline. It is about aliveness, expansion and becoming. About creating the conditions where something more becomes possible — not as an ambition imposed from outside, but as a quiet, honest recognition of what you, or your team, or your organisation might yet be.
Pleasure matters here. Not as indulgence or escape, but as a birthright and a source of vitality. It reminds us that we are not only here to cope, perform or endure.
The work is generative, not curative. The shed is a place for remembering, restoring — and growing.
Individual psychotherapy for adults, drawing on creative, somatic and relational approaches. A confidential, consistent space to explore what has been difficult — not in order to resolve it quickly, but to understand it more honestly.
Old patterns lose their heat slowly. It takes bravery to admit their power, and patience to let the body process what the mind has long been carrying. Therapy here is not only about reducing what is hard. It is about making room for what becomes possible when the weight begins to lift.
The breath is one of the few things that is always with us. It reflects how we meet the world, often long before we are aware of it. When life becomes busy, pressured or overwhelming, many of us stop breathing fully without even noticing.
Breathwork offers an opportunity to slow down, pay attention and reconnect with the body in a different way. Sometimes words are helpful. Sometimes experience teaches us something language cannot.
Sessions are facilitated by a certified Bionic Breathwork practitioner and are delivered in a safe, grounded and trauma-informed way. No previous experience is needed.Organisations, like people, can become dysregulated. Teams disconnect. The people inside them — often doing complex, demanding work — quietly lose contact with their purpose, with each other, and with their own capacity.
Reflective practice consultation creates thinking space within systems under pressure. For schools, care settings, healthcare teams, charities and corporate organisations. Not training, not fixing — but genuine space to slow down, listen to what is actually happening, and find a more sustainable way forward together.
For anyone who has been living predominantly in their head. Anyone navigating burnout, anxiety, grief, disconnection, life transitions — or a quieter sense that there is more available to them than survival alone.
You do not need to be in crisis. You do not need the right words. You only need a sense that you would like to be more present in your own life, more honest about what it asks of you, and more alive within it.
For groups of people doing hard, human work together — who need somewhere to put it down for a moment, think clearly, and remember what they are capable of.
Whether you lead a team, manage a system or carry responsibility for the wellbeing of others — there is space here to breathe, to reflect, and to grow into the organisation you actually want to be.
If something here has resonated — if you are curious, uncertain, or simply ready for something more than getting through — you are welcome to get in touch.
No obligation. No particular version of yourself required.
